§ 28-105.2.3 Rodent abatement in rat mitigation zones. Prior to the issuance of a permit authorizing work on 50% or more of the area of a building, the performance of vertical or horizontal enlargement adding more than 25% of the area of a building or demolition of more than 50% of the area of a building, the applicant shall certify that a licensed pest management professional has been retained to prevent and control for rodents, provided that (i) this requirement shall apply only to buildings located in rat mitigation zones designated by the department of health and mental hygiene, (ii) this requirement shall not apply to a building until seven months after the location of such building has been included in a rat mitigation zone designated by such department, and (iii) the department may, by rule, establish additional criteria limiting the kinds of buildings to which this section applies.
